Babysitter help
Ask Parent Outreach for the current CYSitters and referral-list route
Fort Belvoir Parent & Outreach Services currently says it trains teens in basic child care, CPR, and babysitting business skills. An official 2024 CYSitters course notice also said completers learned first aid and were placed on a babysitting referral list. Because that course notice is historical, confirm whether a current referral list is available, who may receive it, and what each current entry actually documents.
- Request the current official access instructions directly from Parent & Outreach Services.
- Independently confirm a sitter’s identity, availability, references, age fit, and the current dates and scope of any CPR, first-aid, or other training.
- Review Fort Belvoir’s current child-supervision policy and make an individual safety decision; appearing on a referral list is not a Morale Call endorsement or guarantee.
Do this now: Use the current official Parent Outreach page to ask for today’s CYSitters/referral process. Do not rely on a copied or saved roster.

As soon as you know
1. Create or update your MilitaryChildCare.com household profile
The Department of Defense child-care portal says families can begin when the next duty station and tentative arrival are known. Keep sponsor, spouse, contact, and preferred-email details current so notices reach you.
- Create the household profile using the official portal.
- Search the destination and care dates you actually need.
- Do not enter household or child information on Morale Call.
Do this now: Start at the official portal and save the email address used for time-sensitive actions.

Submit requests
2. Request more than one suitable care option
The official request guide allows multiple location and program requests. It recommends considering several program types and “Any Provider” for Family Child Care when that fits the family’s needs.
- Compare Child Development Center, School Age Care, Family Child Care, and eligible off-installation options.
- Request only care types, dates, and locations you could realistically accept.
- Cancel requests that are no longer needed so the profile stays accurate.
Do this now: Review all suitable options rather than relying on a single request.

3. Track anticipated placement timing—not a promised date
MilitaryChildCare.com describes an Anticipated Placement Time. It is not a fixed queue number or guarantee. Priority and the request-for-care timestamp affect placement, and current availability can change.
- Watch the preferred email address and the portal’s time-sensitive action area.
- Respond by the stated deadline when an offer or update arrives.
- Keep care dates and contact details accurate after orders or plans change.
Do this now: Add a recurring reminder to check the portal; never rely on a predicted date as confirmed care.

4. Follow Parent Central’s current checklist
Fort Belvoir Parent Central is the local CYS registration gateway. The current linked checklist covers proof of eligibility, immunization and health records, emergency contacts and release designees, income documentation, and other forms when applicable.
- Read the current checklist before uploading or carrying documents.
- Confirm eligibility, priority, required forms, and fees directly with Parent Central.
- Use WebTrac after Parent Central establishes access and directs the next step.
Do this now: Use the current official checklist rather than an old saved form or social-media list.

If care is unavailable
5. Check conditional backup and fee-assistance routes
Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood may help eligible families when installation care is unavailable or not viable. The current official MCCYN-PLUS page lists Virginia, and other programs may be available subject to eligibility, space, provider, and program rules.
- Ask the official service which programs apply to the family’s circumstances.
- Do not assume subsidy eligibility or reimbursement before written confirmation.
- Confirm final fees with program staff; online estimates are not final determinations.
Do this now: If the installation request will not meet the need, use the official support route to ask what alternatives may apply.
